Search engine marketing

Paid search, measured properly

Google Ads campaigns where the tracking is set up correctly before a penny is spent. Most underperforming accounts aren’t badly targeted — they’re badly measured, so nobody can tell which half of the spend is working.

What we do

Conversion tracking first

Before campaigns. Server-side where it matters, tested end to end, so reported conversions match what actually happened in your system.

Account structure

Campaigns and ad groups organised so you can read the data and act on it, rather than one campaign with everything in it.

Keyword and negative lists

Negatives matter more than keywords in most accounts. Unfiltered broad match is where budgets quietly disappear.

Landing pages

We build them too, so the page the ad points at is fast and matches the promise — see website development.

Shopping campaigns

Product feed setup and optimisation for stores, connected to whichever platform you run.

Account audits

A written review of an existing account: what’s wasting budget, what’s mistracked, what to change first.

Paid or organic?

They answer different questions, and the honest answer is often “both, but not at the same time.”

  • Paid gives you data in days. Which terms convert, what a lead costs, whether the offer works. That’s worth buying even if you stop afterwards.
  • Organic compounds and paid doesn’t. Stop paying and traffic stops that afternoon. SEO keeps working.
  • Paid is right when timing matters — a launch, a season, or a market where organic would take a year you don’t have.
  • Paid is wrong when the maths doesn’t work. If a click costs more than your margin allows, no amount of optimisation fixes that.

We’ll run the maths with you before proposing a budget.

What we won’t do

  • Charge a percentage of spend. It rewards us for spending more of your money, which is the wrong incentive.
  • Run campaigns without working tracking. If we can’t measure it, we’re both guessing.
  • Report on impressions and clicks alone. Those aren’t outcomes. Leads and revenue are.
  • Keep spending on a channel that isn’t working. We’ll tell you to stop rather than keep billing.

Common questions

What budget do we need?

Enough to get statistically meaningful data in a reasonable time, which depends entirely on your cost per click and conversion rate. We’d rather work that out from your numbers than quote a figure that sounds impressive.

Who owns the ad account?

You do, in your name, on your billing. We work inside it with access. Agencies that hold your account hold your data and your history — we don’t.

Our tracking shows conversions we can’t find in our system.

Common, and usually duplicate tags, wrong conversion actions, or counting form views rather than submissions. It’s the first thing an audit checks.

Can you work alongside our existing agency?

Yes — often we handle the technical and tracking side while they run the campaigns.

What are you trying to sell, and to whom?

Tell us that and your rough margin. We’ll tell you whether paid search can work at your numbers before you commit a budget.
