Terms and Conditions

These terms cover two different things: development services we carry out for clients, and plugins bought through this site. Where a section applies to only one of those, it says so.

1. Who these terms are with

This site and the services described on it are operated by Ydesigners (“we”, “us”). By using this site, buying a plugin or engaging us for work, you agree to these terms.

2. Development services

2.1 Scope and quotes

Work begins from a written scope and a fixed quote. The quote covers only what the scope describes. Anything outside it is quoted separately and in advance — we won’t do out-of-scope work and then bill you for it.

2.2 Payment

Unless agreed otherwise, projects are invoiced 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Care plans are billed monthly in advance. Invoices are payable within 14 days. We may pause work on overdue accounts.

2.3 Your responsibilities

You agree to provide the access, content and decisions the project needs in good time. Where delays on your side push a project back, timelines move accordingly.

2.4 Ownership of custom work

On full payment, custom code written specifically for you is yours. We retain ownership of our own pre-existing frameworks, libraries and general-purpose components, and grant you a perpetual licence to use them as part of your deliverable. We don’t build artificial dependencies on ourselves into client work.

2.5 Revisions and acceptance

Each deliverable includes two rounds of revision within the agreed scope. You have 14 days from delivery to report defects, which we’ll fix at no charge. Changes of mind after acceptance are new work.

2.6 Portfolio rights

We may describe work we’ve done for you in our portfolio and case studies unless you ask us not to in writing. White-label and NDA arrangements are respected absolutely.

3. Plugin licences

3.1 What you’re buying

A plugin purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use that plugin on the number of domains stated in your plan. It is a licence to use, not a transfer of ownership.

3.2 How domains are counted

All variants of the same domain — with or without www, over http or https — count as a single activation. Deactivating a plugin frees that slot for another site.

3.3 What you may not do

  • Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the plugin
  • Share your licence key outside your own organisation
  • Remove or alter licensing or copyright notices
  • Use it on more domains than your plan allows

Where a plugin is distributed under the GPL, the GPL governs the code itself and nothing here is intended to limit the rights it grants you. These terms govern your purchase, support and updates.

3.4 Updates and support

While your licence is active you receive updates and support for that plugin. When a licence expires or is cancelled, the plugin keeps working — you stop receiving updates and support until you renew. Nothing is remotely disabled.

3.5 Bring-your-own-key AI features

Plugins with AI features require your own API key from a provider you choose. You are responsible for your account with that provider and for the costs they charge you. Your prompts and content go directly from your site to that provider and do not pass through our servers. We’re not responsible for a provider’s availability, pricing, output quality or terms.

3.6 Refunds

Plugins may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if the plugin does not do what its product page describes. Refunds are not available where the plugin works as described and you changed your mind after extended use, or where a problem is caused by another plugin, a modified theme, or an unsupported hosting environment. Contact us before requesting a refund — most issues are fixable.

Development services are not refundable once work has started, but unused prepaid amounts are returned if we’re unable to complete a project.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use this site or these products to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, distribute malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems. We may suspend a licence for serious or repeated breaches.

5. Warranties and limits

We take real care with what we build, and everything is tested before it reaches you. That said, software is provided “as is”: we can’t warrant that any plugin or site will be free of every defect, or that it will work in every combination of theme, plugin and host that exists.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Keep your own backups. We maintain backups as part of a care plan, but you remain responsible for your own site data.

6. Third-party services

Projects often involve third-party services — hosts, payment gateways, AI providers, plugins from other developers. Those are governed by their own terms, and we’re not responsible for their availability, pricing changes or conduct.

7. Ending an engagement

Care plans may be cancelled by either side with 30 days’ notice. Projects may be ended by either side in writing; you pay for work completed to that point and receive what’s been produced.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force for a purchase or engagement is the one published when it was made. Material changes affecting active customers will be notified by email.

9. Contact

Questions about these terms go through the contact form.
